It’s been a wonderful experience and a genuinely fun journey. Recently, my friend purchased a course on Udemy and generously offered to share his account with me, so I seized the opportunity to dive deeper into AWS.
The range of services AWS offers is astonishing—many of which I had no idea existed before. The saying “You don’t know what you don’t know” has never felt more accurate. As I pursued my certification, I discovered a wealth of free resources that were incredibly helpful.
Earning badges while preparing for the AWS SAA-C03 was both gratifying and instrumental in passing the certification.
I plan to use this knowledge to help my customers save time and money while leveraging my expertise. I also aim to build my own system as practice and prepare for my next certification.
I’m writing this blog to celebrate my progress and to document my ongoing learning journey. My next goal is to achieve the AWS Security Specialist certification.
My experience
This was my first time taking an online exam on my own, and it was motivated by my goal to complete one of the 100 tasks I set for myself this year.
The check-in process was very quick. I had to take photos of my desk and then had a call with a proctor. Although I had trouble understanding her completely, I had prepared by watching some YouTube videos on the check-in process. I used my laptop’s camera to show her my ID, desk, and fortunately, I passed the check-in.
I finished the exam within the first 60 minutes but decided to review my answers. During my review, I realized that while the starred questions were correct, I had made errors on the un-starred questions. I had missed some important information while reading quickly. After correcting these mistakes, I felt confident about my answers. It was an interesting experience.
I had requested an additional 30 minutes for non-English speakers, but I didn’t need it. I completed the exam and survey 45 minutes early. In the survey, there was a question asking if I was sure I would pass the exam. I answered affirmatively, and thankfully, I passed with a bit of luck.
This blog is for my own reflection, to help me remember the timeline of my career path. I’m not trying to show off — just documenting my journey for myself.
